After a successful shooting in Cologne the second shooting block for our feature narrative VOR DER SPERRE starts today. We wish the entire team and especially the director Peter Ott a great time in Duhok, Iraqi Kurdistan.

Shooting Start for VOR DER SPERRE by Peter Ott

On Monday the 11th of April we finished the first shooting day in Cologne for our new narrative feature film VOR DER SPERRE written and directed by Peter Ott. The shooting locations are the MMC Studios in Cologne and Kurdistan Regional Government Iraq. The main female character MARTINA is played by the German actress Catrin Striebeck, the main male part is played by the German actor Christoph Bach. 

We are happy to work with our co-producers MMC Movies Cologne (Bastie Griese and Philip Borbély), WDR, HR/arte and a special thanks to our supporters Film-und Medienstiftung NRW, Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and Deutscher Filmförderfonds.

Memories on Stone is Best International Film at Antalya Film Festival

Mehmet Aktas, writer and producer of MEMORIES ON STONE was very happy to receive the award for "Best International Film" at the Antalya Film Festival. The feature film by Shawkat Amin Korki also celebrated its Turkish premiere in Antalya. Congratulations to the director and the entire crew and cast.

Letter to the King awarded with Screenplay Prize at Carthage Film Festival

LETTER TO THE KING by Hisham Zaman was awarded at the Carthage Film Festival in Tunis with the Screenplay Prize. Congratulations to writer Mehmet Aktas and director Hisham Zaman. 

Memories on Stone wins Special Jury Award in Los Angeles

Oscar winning Bobby Moresco honored MEMORIES ON STONE by Shawkat Amin Korki with the following words: "A tremendous film on every level; a heart wrenching and loving examination of not only the pain of the human heart in conflict with itself but of the craft of filmmaking, why we do it, why we need to do it, why we will continue to do it. The makers of ‘Memories on Stone’ make me proud to be a part of the family of moviemakers everywhere." The Iraqi Oscar entry received the Special Jury Award at the Asian World Film Festival in Los Angeles. Many thanks to the jury we are very honored.

MEMORIES ON STONE wins two awards at the 3rd Duhok International Film Festival

Last week MEMORIES ON STONE finally premiered in Kurdistan Regional Government at the 3rd Duhok International Film Festival. All screenings were sold out. Congratulations also to Shawkat Amin Korki for the "Best Kurdish Director" award and the Duhok City Award for "Best Feature Lenght Film filmed in Bahdinan Region".

MEMORIES ON STONE has also its cinema release in Kurdistan Regional Government on the 24th September!

Memories on Stone is Iraq's Oscar entry

We are very happy and grateful that MEMORIES ON STONE by Shawkat Amin Korki has been selected as official Oscar entry from Iraq. Many thanks to the selection committee. Fingers crossed for the nomination as "Best Foreign Language Film".

House without roof shooting completed

After 37 exciting days in Germany and Iraqi Kurdistan, we are happy to announce that HOUSE WITHOUT ROOF by Soleen Yusef was successfully finished yesterday evening. Many thanks to our great crew and cast. Working with all of you was a pleasure. Now, we are looking forward to the post-production.

Again three awards for Memories on Stone at RiverRun international Film Festival

Once again, MEMORIES ON STONE by Shawkat Amin Korki has been awarded at an international film festival with several prizes. The film was supported by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. At the RiverRun International Film Festival in North Carolina, USA, the drama received awards for: Best Narrative Feature Film, Best Actor (Hussein Hassan) and Special Jury Prize for Editing (Ebrahim Saeedi). Many thanks to the jury an congrats to the awards winners.
