AYŞE POLAT WINS BEST DIRECTOR AT 46TH BAVARIAN FILM AWARDS FOR IN THE BLIND SPOT
We are very happy to announce that Ayşe Polat has won the award for Best Director for IN THE BLIND SPOT at the Bavarian Film Awards. Congratulations!
The award ceremony took place on January 24 in Munich.
The jury's statement:
“[...] Ayşe Polat succeeds in bringing the many different points of view into astonishing balance. A tangible political thriller becomes a harrowing family story, even a mystery play that breaks the boundaries of the genre and forces us to think in very big terms - head cinema at its finest, which Alfred Hitchcock would have enjoyed immensely. In times when it seems more important than ever to get a clear picture, a directorial achievement like Ayşe Polat's is a gift and a challenge to us to see if we really overlook everything this time.”
